GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Provides support to home delivery services for a designated market region. Position is responsible for managing daily operations of motor carriers. In addition, Operations Manager maintains positive and ongoing relationship with external customer and is responsible for generating positive customer satisfaction.

* Manager Motor Carriers operating 6 days per week in multiple locations, assisting in route planning and route monitoring for current day region of deliveries.

* Pre-screen contract carriers from incoming applicant database for contract eligibility based on DOT standards and company policy.

* Continuously develop Motor Carrier base operation to meet productivity demands.

* Build relationships with customers to ensure continued operating improvements. 15%
* Work with national sales team on pricing, competitive advantages and disadvantages to facilitate new avenues of growth.

* Manage expense accurately and meet P&L budget goals.

* Training and development of contract carriers and dispatch personnel to meet and exceed the customers expectations and the goals of the company. 10%
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manages 1 subordinate supervisor(s) who supervises 1- 10 warehouse associates and dispatch personnel.
* Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
DECISION-MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES:
* This Job has decision-making responsibilities up to $1,500.
* Determines strategies by conducting needs assessments, analyzing and summarizing data and trends of local area.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
* Minimum Required Education: Associates degree in a business related field or equivalent work experience.
* Minimum Required Experience: 2 years of supervisory experience.
* Desirable Education/Experience: Bachelors degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management with two years of logistics management experience and knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations.
